HTC Desire Z, Desire's more youthful brother , has the difficult job of supplying what might be better at a mobile phone with Google android operating system, but in a smaller and more compact package.
The back of the phone is outlined by rounded shapes, which has as the main part the polished aluminum cover which is engraved with the HTC logo.
In front we find the same four touch-sensitive control keys which are also present at Desire HD.Tthey are positioned higher than the track pad which often serves as the validate press button.
On the right side we can find the dedicated digital camera switch, thankfully modeled to avoid accidental operation.
On the left side of the display we have a sized volume button and a micro-USB connector, with a slightly deeper shape compared to the rest of the phone but still left uncovered, which often might create difficulties in time, such as the accumulation of dust.
Above the screen, we can find the connector for 3.5 mm headphone jack and the power button, which can be used as a screen lock button.
HTC Desire Z comes equipped with a 3.7-inch touchscreen display along with pinch-to-zoom functionality and resolution 480 x 800 pixels, providing the same work area as its bigger brother, but compacted to a smaller area. Display screen readability has not suffered too much because of reduced dimensions, the exception being perhaps just browsing webpages, where the eyes are subjected to extra effort and so discerning small text.
QWERTY key pad is controlled by a mechanism with 2 strong light weight aluminum hinges, resulting in a slightly circular movement as the display is handed over the keyboard. The mechanism is easy enough to be controlled. The hinge system gets rigid after expanding the keyboard.
HTC Z Desire CPU unfortunately is clocked at just 800MHz, not like Desire HD product which has a 1GHz CPU. We still appreciate the quantity of RAM (512MB)
Desire Z is running Android 2.2 (Froyo), delivering the same HTC Sense interface which we already have on Desire HD model. Speed is very good and the time to boot the operating-system is less than 5 seconds.
For the communication part we have a WiFi 802.11 b / g / n module, Bluetooth 2.1 + A2DP mode, GPRS, EDGE and 3G, .
The interface is extremely rich in options, and also quite user-friendly
Desire HTC Z is one of those eye-catching handsets which has a high selling price. The design is very effective in terms of cosmetic and almost perfect in terms of quality construction. Android operating system is already well-known and Desire Z just puts even more value.
